Morning Call with You (Valdivia), April 27, 2026
Short Monday morning call, roughly six minutes, with terrible connection - large stretches you were nearly unintelligible. Three actual exchanges landed before you gave up and said you would call back when you had better signal.
My haircut
I told you I got a haircut. You said: "Whoa. Where did your hair go? Did you get a haircut? You look younger." I laughed and said that's what both Mom and Natalie said. Natalie cut my hair. You asked when. I said Friday or Saturday. You asked if she passed her hair test. I said yes.
Week update - exhausted, normal-stressed
I asked how your week was going. You said it's been super busy. You've had a bunch of exchanges and lots of meetings. You woke up yesterday for the first time with circles under your eyes. I said for what it's worth, I didn't notice. You said that's good - everybody at church did. One of your converts came up and asked you, "Did you wake up okay?" You and your comp are exhausted but hanging in there.
I asked if you were stressed. You said: not super stressed. Normal stressed. It's fine. Me: normal stress is good. Enough to build you without breaking you. You said this week will luckily just be a normal week. No exchanges, no big things.
Fingernails, cinder block, sign-off
I asked about the fingernails you got done last Monday. You said yeah, you're starting to hate them now, but it's okay. I asked if those were your real fingernails. You said yeah. Me: "Holy cow."
You asked where Mom was. You said you honestly forgot Mom could drive - because none of the women down there drive. I told you Mom was dropping off Alexa.
I said I never realized you had cinder block. You said it's not cinder block; that's the curtain. I laughed and said it looks like you're in a Walmart. I turned off my video to help with the phone connection.
You said you were going to the store. You'd call back when you had better signal. Sign-off.
Cleanup Notes
- Speaker 3: Original transcript labels two short interjections as "Speaker 3." Could not be cleanly attributed. Omitted.
- "I MoM" / "Driver, mama": Garbled exclamations preserved in raw; cleaned out here as transcription artifacts.
- Bilingual sign-off: You said "seƱal... signal" at 06:08 - switching from Spanish to English mid-thought.
- Mostly bad connection: Several minutes of the call are unintelligible in the raw.
