First full CCM email, sent Feb 25, 2025. Covers departure day from Herriman, flight to Mexico City, first days at the CCM, and a key spiritual experience teaching a non-member couple where Kaitlynn felt the gift of tongues. Bryson drove from Logan for the airport sendoff. Called as house leader (informal "hermana mom" role).

Week Highlights

Wednesday (departure day) - Frantically packed all afternoon. Last whole-family outing. Bryson drove from Logan to see her off.

Thursday (travel day - Feb 20) - Up at 5 AM, to airport by 6. Family waited at the TSA window to wave goodbye one more time. - Flight to Mexico City (Delta), window seat. Mexico City: "gorgeous and crammed and terrifying." - CCM: parrots, palm trees, filled with the Spirit. 3rd floor apartments, no elevator. She helped carry multiple large suitcases up (heaviest: 75 lbs solo). - Opening devotional; led "Llamados a Servir" [Called to Serve].

Friday - Zoom teachers turned out to be real people ("it was so weird meeting them"). - Called as house leader ("hermana mom" role).

Saturday - Gift of Tongues - Weekly activity teaching real families at the CCM. Assigned a non-member, Spanish-only couple. - Felt prompted to just look at them and speak; Spanish came easily. Can't remember what she said. References 2 Nephi 32:2-3.

Sunday - Played piano for church (last-minute ask). - Choir sang "Reina Paz en Me Ser" [It Is Well With My Soul, in Spanish] and "Llamados a Servir."

Monday (official week 3 start) - Elders "declared her one of the boys." - Service project; volleyball; first attempt at the "chicken wing" spike.

Spiritual Thought

2 Nephi 2:2 - God consecrates afflictions for gain. Deuteronomy 11:8 - obedience brings blessing. Recommends "A Summer with Great-Aunt Rose" (Elder Costa, GC Oct 2015).
