Weekly Stats
- BOMs handed out: 3 / Amigos found: 8 / Dogs that tried to bite: 4 / Dogs that peed on her: 1 / Fechas made: 1 (Carmen)
Week Highlights
Monday (P-day): Mall outing with missionaries. Ate a full Papa John's pizza alone. An elder lost 38,000 Chilean pesos in an ATM (~$38 USD).
Tuesday: Hard day - nearly all contacts rejected them. Called hermana leaders for advice; re-energized.
Wednesday: Found 8 people in one day. Weekly goal is 10. Beautiful closing lesson with a long-time friend.
Thursday: Introduced the "zanahoria dance" ritual [carrot dance]: after a hard moment, eat carrots and do a happy food dance. Dog grabbed Hermana Snowder's phone through a fence - phone recovered, only screen protector damaged.
Friday: Dog peed on Kaitlynn while she stood in the street planning their route. ("I in fact was getting peed on.") Video in her Google Photos. Handed out 2 Books of Mormon to kids so excited they each wanted their own copy.
Saturday: General Conference! Watched 2/3 sessions in English, 1 in Spanish. Watched the middle session with ward member Hermana Ines; ate many cookies.
Sunday: Accidentally slept until 8 AM due to time change. Lesson with Carmen: she wants to be baptized - first baptismal date. General Conference again - "never been so excited for conference."
Companion Introduction - Hermana Snowder
From Utah, ~20 min from Herriman. Loves running and soccer. Patient with Kaitlynn. Entered the field January 1, 2025. "Probably Latina." An example of how much Christ cares about every detail in your life.
Spiritual Thought
Gratitude has power. 2 Nephi 33:6 - "I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell." Challenge: "What do you glory in?"
People
- Carmen - investigator, first baptismal date. Rodrigo's aunt.
- Hermana Ines - ward member; watched conference together.
- Mason Heywood - mentioned as holding Mosiah 2:17 as his favorite scripture.
Notes
- "Queso" is a dog at a member's home. "Bakan" = Chilean slang for cool.
