Kaitlynn in the Chile Puerto Montt Mission

Kaitlynn Weekly Email - Licursi mi pastor es, nada me faltará

June 16, 2025 · Punta Arenas, Chile

Snapshot

Week 18. Four months in the mission. Still living with hermana leaders (new apartment floor still being repaired); 1-hour walk to their sector each way. Transfer call: she's staying in Punta Arenas. Found an "elegido" [spiritually prepared person] near a meat shop after a prompting. Walked into the corner of a puppet theater; has a forehead scar - "the chileana Harry Potter." Deep lesson with the Familia Ruiz.

Week Highlights

Spiritual Thought

Alma 31:38 - God provided strength so the missionaries' afflictions were "swallowed up in the joy of Christ." Hebrews 12:2 - Christ, "the author and finisher of our faith." Sister Hinckley: "The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it." Recommends three GC talks.

Subject Line

"Licursi mi pastor es, nada me faltará" - playful phonetic rendering of Psalm 23 in Spanish: "El Señor es mi pastor, nada me faltará" [The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want].
