Kaitlynn Weekly Email - oops, i did it again

Multi-week catchup (forgot to send emails). Covers ~2 weeks. Still haven't moved into their new apartment - "officially homeless for 1 month." The ward Familia Ruiz have fully adopted them as family. Hermana Mía's birthday party - only the missionaries were invited. Deep love for the ward and the Book of Mormon.
Spiritual Thought (leads the email)
Lehi's dream: three groups - those who don't hold the rod, those who clung briefly, those who held fast continually. Iron rod = word of God / scriptures. Elder Bednar ("A Reservoir of Living Water," BYU): "Spiritual thirst is a need for living water. A constant flow of living water is far superior to sporadic sipping." The first two groups fell away because they were spiritually dehydrated. References 1 Nephi 15:24 - scripture study as armor. President Nelson: "Do the spiritual work required to overcome the world."
Week Highlights
- Hard weeks but very good. Running to find new people; many miracles.
- Hermana Bird: "the sweetest most humble human being I've ever met." They laugh daily.
- Familia Ruiz - have fully welcomed them as their own:
- Birthday party for daughter Mía - only the missionaries were invited. "Not because they don't have any friends but because there's no one else they'd rather have a party with."
- Carol and Jose helped shop for and measure furniture for their new apartment.
- Hermana Anita had them sit in the kitchen and chat while she cooked their lunch.
- "This ward is golden."
- Hard weeks, but: "through my trials I become closer to God. I have a deep love for the Book of Mormon that I didn't have before."
