Major transition. Hermana Bird finishes her mission and goes home. The Punta Arenas sector is closed by the mission. Kaitlynn transfers to Puerto Montt with new companion Hermana Pehrson. On day one in Puerto Montt, they waded through knee-deep flooded streets and found investigator Yessenia - gave her a new baptismal date for August 24.

Week Highlights

• Hermana Bird is finishing her mission; packing and cleaning together. (Discovered the grout was white, not black.)
• Found 2 new investigators; both progressing.
• Ward party with mate and live music; Kaitlynn did the Napoleon Dynamite dance in the corner - "it was a big hit."
• Transfer call: sector is closing. Kaitlynn transfers to Puerto Montt.
• New companion: Hermana Pehrson (from Utah).
• Cried saying goodbye. Only properly said goodbye to Familia Ruiz and her district.

First days in Puerto Montt: - Met the ward; "all the sweetest people." - Rain and Argentine lunches. - One lesson fell through in pouring rain; they knocked an unfamiliar area and found Yessenia - had an old baptismal date on file. Set a new fecha: August 24. - Route home became a river; waded knee-deep. Discovered their waterproof gear is not actually waterproof. ("Prayers for my boots, they're still drying.")

Spiritual Thought

"God doesn't call those who are prepared, He prepares those who are called." D&C 78:17-19 - "Be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours." Be grateful even for the hard. Closes in Spanish: "Hay milagros en cualquier lado, solo necesita buscarles" [There are miracles everywhere, you just need to look for them].
