First full email from Puerto Montt. Said goodbye to Hermana Bird (cried a lot). Transferred, said a tearful goodbye to Familia Ruiz. Hermana Pehrson is energetic and ready to work. Knee-deep flooding on day one; found Yessenia with a new fecha for August 24. Ward is warm.

Week Summary

"If you read my last email you know that this week was cambios." Monday: said goodbye to Hermana Bird (cried a lot). Packed up the house; sector closed. Proper goodbye to Familia Ruiz. ("Les extraño muchoooo" [I miss them so much].)

Puerto Montt: met Hermana Pehrson. Several days of meeting ward members, rain, and "rico Argentinian lunches." Lesson fell through in extreme rain (streets were rivers); found Yessenia - old baptismal date on file; new fecha August 24.

Road-became-a-river incident: walked on the curb to stay dry; ended up wading knee-deep. Hilarious. Waterproof gear failed. "Prayers for my boots, they're still drying."

Sunday: met the ward. "Full of people who just want to serve the Lord and do their best." Misses Punta Arenas ward but trusts the transfer.

Spiritual Thought

Faith in Jesus Christ. Zone call: studying Christ's attributes, first being Faith. Alma 32:21 - faith is not a perfect knowledge; it is hoping for things unseen that are true. Hebrews 11:6 - without faith it is impossible to please God. Testimony builds from small experiences. "Relying on only the little rays of faith to eventually build a pillar of faith is really hard but that's exactly what helps us to be strong."
