General Conference weekend. Two main takeaways: center on Christ; be patient with yourself ("by small and simple things"). Hermana Soares appears for the first time (as companion; was sick Tuesday). Baptism of Ellie (zone-wide effort). P-day: hiked Volcán Osorno with the Puerto Varas zone.

Week Highlights

Tuesday: Hermana Soares was sick; temporary trio with Hermana Sabella.

Wednesday (Intercambios): With Hermana Larson; lots of fun, found several people, made sopaipillas [Chilean fried flatbread - she glosses as "Chilean scones"].

Thursday: Hard lesson - a family said they believe in God but aren't religious and never will be.

Friday: Baptism of Ellie - not in their ward but the whole zone helped. Spirit strong.

Saturday and Sunday: General Conference - watched with members Saturday; Kaitlynn made cinnamon rolls for the Sunday viewing at the church building.

Monday (P-day): Hiked Volcán Osorno with the Puerto Varas zone. Played in snow; hiked to a waterfall. "I miss hiking so if you're reading this go on a hike for me."

Spiritual Thought - General Conference

  1. Center on Christ; loving Him leads naturally to wanting to change. More happiness, better choices, more strength.
  2. "By small and simple things are great things brought to pass" (Alma 37:6). Be patient with yourself. Learning to not be too hard on herself; loving God's children includes loving yourself.
